Reef Report - April 25, 2015

Dive 1
Christ of the Abyss Statue, Key Largo
Water temp. 81 degrees, seas 1 foot. vis. 40'.  Slight current.
Sightings include Bonnet shark, (related to Hammerhead shark), gray reef shark, schooling Sargent Majors, channel crab. 

Dive 2
Minnow Caves, Key Largo 
Water temp. 81 degrees, seas < one foot, vis. 50', no current.
Sightings include juvenile glassy sweepers in the caves, barracuda cleaning station, juvenile queen angel, pork fish, margates, snapper, jacks, "ladder cuda" (large cuda that hung at the bottom rung of the platform ladder, seemed to want to
nip at our feet, no reported injuries).

Sunday, May 3rd: Drift dive in moderate to mild currents as you explore the beautiful deep 40 – 60 ft. reefs of the Delray and Boynton Beach area. These fantastic reefs are full of many interesting creatures including numerous tropicals, turtles, lobster and morays. Check in at The Scuba Center at 12:00 noon.

Fort Lauderdale
Nice reefs close to home.

Saturday, May 9th: Lots of wonderful sites and reefs to explore in the Fort Lauderdale beach area. You're in for a real treat with lots of sea fans, colorful coral, tropical fish, and the occasional grouper, nurse shark and ray. Check in at American Dream at 12:00 p.m.

Tavernier
Lovely Reefs to Explore

Sunday, May 17th: Tavernier - Come experience the top Key Largo scuba diving sites such as Molasses Reef, Conch Wall, Davis Ledge, Horseshoe and Hens & Chickens. Here you'll find many morays, schooling tropicals, turtles, the occasional spotted eagle ray, and unusual pillar corals Check in at Florida Keys Dive Center at 12:00 noon.

Miami Beach
Deep wrecks and adventure.

Saturday, May 23rd: Experience a deep adventure with one of a kind wrecks such as jet airliner, M-60 Tanks, freighters, tugs and barges. Most are intact with penetration possible. All are surrounded by clear water and abundant marine life. Advanced criterion applies. Meet at RJ's Diving Ventures at 12:00 noon.
