Dive with ADA this summer!
New Feature! Weekly Reef Report from Lon

May 3 dive, Hollywood. Seas-1-2 feet, vis. 50-60 feet.

1st dive- Mine Car reef, depth 50-60 feet. We spotted one large green moray, two black coral trees (very rare in FL), two Lion Fish, (not so rare lately) and one sharp-tail eel, AKA snake eel. Water temp near surface 76 degrees, at depth 74 degrees.

2nd dive- Barracuda Reef, depth 30-40 feet. More unusual/rare finds.  A small spotted eel was attempting to ingest the head of a large grunt.  After several failed attempts, it gave up and swam away disgustedly. Then a bizarre sight, a pack of bristle worms was picking over the remains of what could of been the skeleton of a ballyhoo. They were twisted and wrapped around the spine, presumably chomping away like a Pacman (that's an old video game, for you youngsters in the group). Rain between dives, but a stimulating afternoon.

Editor's note - have no fear, the water is already up to 80 degrees in the Keys where we're going on Saturday!
