Reef Report:

May 15th - South Tavernier with Florida Keys Dive Center


Dive 1 Dive 1 Paradise reef, depth 25', vis. 50', water temp. 79 degrees, moderate current, seas < 1'.  Sightings include sting rays, 9-10' thrasher shark, nurse shark, moray eel, spotted eel, schooling snapper, grunts.

Dive 2 Pete's Reef, depth 20', vis. 40', seas <1', water temp. 79 degrees, no current. Sightings include numerous brain corals, blankets of thumb corals, schooling Bermuda chubs, star corals, numerous camouflaged sand dollars, sea urchins which are very important to a healthy reef.

Great diving closer to home!

Sunday, May 22nd: Lots of wonderful sites and reefs to explore. See a variety of marine life including sea fans, numerous tropical fish, lobsters and the occasional grouper, nurse shark and ray. The reef system is comprised of three bands that run parallel to the shore ranging from 15 feet to 100 feet deep. Meet at American Dream at noon.

Palm Beach (Advanced)
Drift dive among abundant marine life

Saturday, May 28th: The blue waters of the Gulf Stream dip closest to Florida here which creates a mild current (1 knot average) running parallel to the wrecks and reef lines. The gentle current allows divers to drift effortlessly along all the dive sites plentiful with marine life. Advanced critera applies. Check in at Ocean Quest Scuba at 12:00 noon.

North Tavernier
Florida Keys at its finest

Sunday, June 5th: Come experience the top Key Largo scuba diving sites such as Molasses Reef, Conch Wall, Davis Ledge, Horseshoe and Hens & Chickens. Here you'll find many morays, schooling tropicals, turtles, the occasional spotted eagle ray, and  unusual pillar corals Meet at Capt Slate's at 12:00 noon.

Key Largo Charter (Advanced)
Advanced diving to exclusive sites

Saturday, June 11th: This is a special charter exclusively for ADA members. We will go off the beaten path to explore the reefs that aren't frequented by the every-day dive boats. Enjoy the abundant marine life and unique coral formations that make Key Largo famous. Meet at Rainbow Reef at 12:00 noon.
