August 10th - Boynton Beach with Loggerhead Charters

Dive 1.  Boynton Combs - Drift dive in moderate current, seas about 1 foot, Depth 61 feet, visibility 30 feet, Water temp. 86 degrees. Lots of interesting sightings including a very large loggerhead turtle missing half of his right front flipper, two large green moray eels, schooling pork fish, cow fish, numerous trunkfish, white spotted file fish in orange phase, nurse shark, cornetfish, and schooling barracuda. 

Dive 2.  Delray Ledges - almost no current at bottom, seas picked up to 1-2 feet, Depth 66 feet, visibility 30 feet, Water temp. 83 degrees. Roger Bach speared a large lionfish on this dive. We saw another very large sleeping turtle under ledge, also many interesting sponges: red, orange, purple fingers, purple vases, green, yellow laced with black, iridescent purple, and green gorgonia. Huge schools of snappers, glassy sweepers under the ledges and a spotted eel.

Saturday, August 16th: The waters surrounding this wreck sits are so clear because it is closer to the Gulfstream than most wrecks and reefs. Some very large fish such as barracuda, amberjack, and cobia are often spotted swimming around the wreck. Advanced criterion applies. Meet at Florida Keys Dive Center at 12:00 noon.

North Tavernier

(Dive at the new Capt. Slates)
Sunday, August 24th: Yes, after 36 years (1978) Capt's Slates has moved to a new location you will love even more at Mile Marker 90.7 in Tavernier. Along with this comes 25 new beautiful dive sites to explore with many morays, schooling tropicals, turtles, and the occasional spotted eagle ray. Check in at the new Capt. Slates in Tavernier at 12:00 p.m.

Boca Raton
(Clear water and abundant marine life.)

Saturday, August 30th: - Drift dive over beautiful reefs home to Goliath Groupers, eels, stingrays, nurse sharks and hundreds of other fish. Clear warm water and healthy reefs make this a great choice. Check in at American Dream at 12:00 noon.
