Last Chance for Night Dive 101 - HURRY Only a Few Spaces Left!

It's fun, it's easy, and it's FREE!!! The cost of the dive includes instruction, and there's still time to sign up to night dive with us this Saturday.

Join ADA on its next, and last of the season, night dive Sept 12. Some divers hesitate to night dive because of a natural fear of the unknown, mis-understandings, lack of knowledge, and misconceptions from media sensationalism. But after a thorough ADA instruction and orientation night diving mini-course, followed by a safe but exciting night dive, the vast majority of novice night divers are eager to go again.

All the basics of night diving will be outlined and discussed including dive lights, underwater communication, hand signals, diving differences day vs. night, natural stressors, equipment requirements, and site selection.

Are you ready to break through and try your first night dive? Call Lon at 305-251-4975 to reserve the September 12th night dive. Better yet, make a day of it with the afternoon dive, have a bite then stay on for Night Diving 101!

Make Plans for the next ADA Coral Restoration Foundation Coral Planting Dive September 19!

On Saturday, September 19th, ADA members will once again meet in Key Largo to participate in planting corals with the Coral Restoration Foundation. We welcome your participation in this rewarding event volunteering for this worthy cause.

The day will begin with a lecture on corals including their physical structure, how they grow, and why they die, and why they are important to the ocean eco-system. After the lecture, the divers will be taught how to prepare the coral “seedlings” for growth and how to plant them on the reef. Using mock-ups of the underwater world, each aspect of the coral planting process will be demonstrated and practiced in a controlled environment.

Following a delicious lunch we will travel by dive boat to the CRF's coral nursery to harvest the baby corals for planting. The event concludes with the second dive where we actually outplant the baby corals onto the reef. Cost is $130 per diver which includes 2015 membership in the Active Divers Association (required), all diving, tanks/weights, lunch, CRF donation, boat fees, and materials.

Hurry - only a few spaces remain so call Lon at 305-251-4975 to sign up. Click here to read more about the Coral Restoration Foundation.
