September 7th - Islamorada with Key Dives

Dive 1  Fingers reef, depth 55', water temp. 86 degrees, visibility 50',
seas 2-3', no current. Sightings include bleached soft coral, many hard corals bleached.  A soft coral taken over by fire coral, which was being taken over by sponge (very rare).

Dive 2  South Fingers reef, depth 55', water temp. 86 degrees, seas 2-3', later current. Visibility 50'. Usual tropicals, large barrel sponges.

On Saturday, September 6th ADA members volunteered with the Coral Restoration Foundation for a day of learning about coral, visiting the CRF nursery and replanting corals on Conch Reef. Learn more >>

Sunday, September 28th: Yes, after 36 years (1978) Capt's Slates has moved to a new location you will love even more at Mile Marker 90.7 in Tavernier. Along with this comes 25 new beautiful dive sites to explore with many morays, schooling tropicals, turtles, and the occasional spotted eagle ray. Check in at the new Capt. Slates in Tavernier at 12:00 p.m.
