Season Kick-Off Dive, BBQ, & Raffle on Saturday, April 2nd!!
We kick off our 2022 dive season at the Blue Heron Bridge dive site at Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach for our annual season opener event. This site is world-famous, named the Best Shore Dive in the U.S. by Scuba Diving Magazine. There is so much to see here just a flat, easy walk from shore. Even though this is the Intracoastal Waterway and not the ocean, swift currents moving through daily ensure the marine life is always varied and abundant. Seas are normally calm and clear. We have seen goliath groupers, manatees, bait balls of silversides, huge yellow cushion starfish, 9-armed starfish, batfish, frogfish, octopus, eels, seahorses, numerous crabs and abundant schools of tropical fish including Atlantic spadefish.

The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. when divers meet at the covered pavilion next to the restrooms on the west side of the park. At 12:00 noon we’ll fire up the grill for hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and all the fixin’s. The event will conclude with a raffle of fabulous dive-related prizes. Feel free to also bring used dive gear to buy, sell or swap!

All this is FREE to members but you must RSVP to Amber at 561-301-2265 or email ambernlaureano@gmail.com. Non-members pay $10 for the BBQ. In order to get an accurate headcount for lunch, please RSVP no later than March 30.

Dive Schedule Coming Soon!

We have a whole season of diving lined up for 2022, every weekend from May to November. Keep and eye out for the dive schedule coming soon. We look forward to diving with you again this year!

A Word on Dive Pricing

As you know, our base rate of $55 per dive has not changed in many years. But as we all are painfully aware, the price of gasoline and everything else has gone up substantially. We are committed to keeping diving affordable for our members, so we are raising our rates by only $5 per dive. The 2022 rate will be $60 without insurance and $70 with insurance. This new rate is still substantially lower than what our dive shops charge their retail customers. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to a fabulous dive season in 2022!

A Word on Insurance

What is this insurance we speak of? It's not DAN insurance, but our very own Active Divers trip cancellation insurance.

Active Divers has created a unique concept in local diving: NO FAULT INSURANCE!! For an additional $10, per person, per local dive trip, members can eliminate the worry of losing their dive fees because of an unforeseen change of plans. If for any reason you are unable to attend a local dive for which you are scheduled and have paid the insurance, Active Divers will credit your dive fee to another date. If you cannot use the credit during the year, then the amount will be refunded after dive season is over. The $10 insurance is non-transferable and non-refundable. When you make a reservation, click on the "Dive + Insurance" link on the Dive Schedule page or if reserving by phone, ask for dive trip cancellation insurance.

**International Dive Trips Update**

We have space on both the Cozumel and Little Cayman trips for a female to share a room. If you're interested in one of these great trips, please reach out to Daryl at diverdaryl@bellsouth.net.
