A Special Message
to Our Members
Greetings Active Divers! We hope that everyone is
staying safe and well in the midst of these very
challenging times. We would like to let you know
that, under the circumstances, we will extend the
deadline for the early-bird membership renewal rate
of $35 until April 30.
At the present time the site for our first two
events Season Kick off on April 25 (Blue Heron
Bridge at Phil Foster Park) and Scuba Skills Tune Up
on May 16 (AD Barnes Park Pool) are both closed
until further notice. Should these venues open in
time to hold our events, we will let you know.
Some of our dive operators are closed, while others
are open to business. Since our first dive is not
scheduled until May 3, we will wait and see how the
situation unfolds over time and let you know just as
soon as we hear the status of our dive
schedule.
For those of you who have made deposits on our
international trips, here is the status:
1) Blackbeard's Sailboat Dive Cruise - The US has a
Level 2 travel Advisory for the Bahamas meaning that
US citizens should not travel abroad at this time.
Presently, there are 4 known cases of COVID-19 in
New Providence and they are under an Emergency Order
through March 31 which imposes a curfew and business
restrictions similar to ours. We have contacted
Blackbeard's regarding any guidance they have and I
am waiting for an answer.
2) Cayman Brac and Little Cayman - The Cayman
Islands have eliminated flights to the islands and
restricted travel within the islands to local
residents only. Both of the resorts have temporarily
closed as a result. Final payments for Cayman Brac
are not due until May 1, 2020 and we expect to have
guidance from the resorts prior to that time.
As soon as we hear
something we will be sure to let you know.
In the meantime,
our dive schedule remains open for booking, and we
will let you know the status of our dives as soon as
we have an update.
Be safe and stay well! |
