Reef Report
Saturday, April 2nd
Phil Foster Park, West Palm Beach

The weather was perfect for our annual season opener picnic. Two groups dove under the bridge, one group to the East, the other to the West. Seas were calm and the air was warm and breezy, the water was a chilly 75 degrees. Divers were treated to gorgeous corals, schools of Atlantic spade fish, large rainbow parrot fish, a tiny octopus and two seahorses!
After the dive, members enjoyed burgers and hot dogs grilled up by our President, Lon Von Lintel, and we had a very successful raffle, nearly every person walked away with a prize!

Please join me in welcoming to our 22 new members!!

***SPECIAL THANKS***

Huge thanks go out to our members, as well as Force-E Scuba Center, who donated dive gear (including hand made pillows by our very own Lori Woeltjen) and other items for our raffle. A very special thanks to our board members and safety officers who helped pull together everything for the picnic including (but not limited to) - planning, arriving early to reserve tables, setting up and greeting our members, checking everyone in and signing up new members, leading the dives, cooking lunch and generally being awesome.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, a great time was had by all!

Lost and Found

These items were found at the Season Opener BBQ, please respond to this email or call Amber @ 561-301-2265 if any of these items belong to you.

A Word on Dive Pricing

As you know, our base rate of $55 per dive has not changed in many years. But as we all are painfully aware, the price of gasoline and everything else has gone up substantially. We are committed to keeping diving affordable for our members, so we are raising our rates by only $5 per dive. The 2022 rate will be $60 without insurance and $70 with insurance. This new rate is still substantially lower than what our dive shops charge their retail customers. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to a fabulous dive season in 2022!

A Word on Insurance

What is this insurance we speak of? It's not DAN insurance, but our very own Active Divers trip cancellation insurance.

Active Divers has created a unique concept in local diving: NO FAULT INSURANCE!! For an additional $10, per person, per local dive trip, members can eliminate the worry of losing their dive fees because of an unforeseen change of plans. If for any reason you are unable to attend a local dive for which you are scheduled and have paid the insurance, Active Divers will credit your dive fee to another date. If you cannot use the credit during the year, then the amount will be refunded after dive season is over. The $10 insurance is non-transferable and non-refundable. When you make a reservation, click on the "Dive + Insurance" link on the Dive Schedule page or if reserving by phone, ask for dive trip cancellation insurance.
