New Safety Officer Candidates

On Saturday, April 15 the Safety Officer Committee held a training and orientation session in Pompano Beach for our four 2023 Active Divers Safety Officer Candidates: Dan Beery, Gabriel Miyares, Rodolfo Lopez and Steve McPhillips. Each candidate will begin their field training process this year to become a Safety Officer for the club. Be sure to say hello and provide your encouragement when you see them on upcoming dives.

Welcome Al Menendez to the Board of Directors

The Active Divers Association Board of Directors officially welcomed Al Menendez to their ranks. Al has been a member in good standing since 2017 this time around, but was a member back in the early days of the club in the 1980's. Al has attended many weekend dives and international trips over the years (and decades!), and currently serves as our eNews editor. Welcome Al and thank you for your service!

Join Us for the Season Opener Dive, BBQ and Celebration

There are still a few spaces available for our season opener dive, BBQ and celebration on Saturday, April 29 in Tavernier. In addition to hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixin's, Host Lee Wood has asked attendees to bring an optional dish or snacks to share if they wish, and to bring their dishes to his house before the dive if they need to be refrigerated. The dive is sold out online, but if you want to take one of the remaining spots please contact Rachel at 786-316-9852 or reply to this email. Details and location of the party will be provided to attendees prior to the event.
Many thanks to Lee and Rosie Wood, our gracious hosts of this year's season opener celebration BBQ in Tavernier. Thank you for your hosptiality!
