8th Annual Scuba Skills Tune Up

Twelve ADA members, six Safety Officers and four Board members gathered at AD Barnes Park Pool in Miami for our eighth annual Scuba Skills Tune Up. Overcast skies kept things cool while the rain held off during our classroom portion. The pool was a very comfortable 89 degrees. Sightings included buddy breathing, mask skills, buoyancy exercises, giant strides into the pool and other skills to help our members feel comfortable in advance of their ocean dives this year. Many thanks to all who came out to help and who brought food and drinks. Thanks especially to all the members who participated and welcome to our new club members Frank, Lauren & Alejandro Alvaro, Lynda Melton, Thomas Rodrigues, Barbie Escobar and Shep Johnston.

May 19-20 - PADI Coral Restoration Specialty Certification
The May 20th course is $175 includes classes, boat fees, tanks, lunch To earn the PADI certification you must also attend the May 19 CRF course which is $130 including classes, boat fees, tanks, lunch.

Want to see all about coral transplanting and saving our reefs while saving your wallet? As you know, ADA has for many years joined the Coral Restoration Foundation and helped grow and transplant corals. Now, you can watch how it's done without the expense of the total program. Join us for either the May 19th or 20th dives to observe how the coral nursery is cared for, then watch us harvest and plant on the reefs near Tavernier. Cost is only $55 including tanks.
