Copenhagen Wreck and Nursery
with South Florida Diving
Headquarters
Sunday, May 26
Dive
1: Seas
1-2', depth 30', vis 80',
water temp 84 degrees, slight
north running current. A
gentle drift dive exploring the
Copenhagen wreck, a Florida
Underwater Archaeological
Preserve. Divers
explored the wreck, noting
the anchor then continued on with
some parrot fish and other fish
sightings on the wreck. Drifting
north with the current, morays, a
nurse shark, and a lobster were
spotted on Pompano Ledge.
Dive 2: Nursery, Seas
2', depth 29', vis
60-70', water temp 84
degrees, north running
current. Another gentle
drift dive on the ledge. In
addition to the many native reef
fish who inhabit the ledge, Jean
spotted and took some
excellent photos of puffer
fish, goldentail moray, smooth
trunk, spotted moray, and lizard
fish. We were treated to
various species of coral along the
ledge. The seas picked up
the last half of the dive, but all
made it safely aboard the boat and
back to the dock after an
enjoyable afternoon.
