Let's
Go Diving!!
So
we survived our first named
storm of the season right on
time for the start of the 2022
Atlantic Hurricane season. One
casualty was our dive scheduled
for June 4, however, the
beautiful calm seas and warm
weather that Florida is famous
for has thankfully returned and
is on tap for this weekend. Plus
the water's warming up so we'll
be out of our wetsuits soon!
Saturday's marine forecast for Key
Largo is calling for seas around 1
foot for the afternoon and night
dives on June 11. Horizon Divers
is a great operation and the good
news is that tanks are included in
our already low price. While the
afternoon dive is sold out, there
are still four spaces remaining
for the night dive. On past night
dives with Horizon we've done the
Benwood wreck which is easy to
navigate, and have been treated to
several green turtles which
inhabit the wreck at night, and
we've even seen octopus! There's a
restaurant called Shipwreck's
onsite at the marina where we
typically grab a quick bite
between the afternoon and night
dives.
If you've never done a night dive
before or if you have some
hesitation, know that it's safe
and fun. We typically do an
extended night dive briefing and
you are always welcome to dive
with the Safety Officer if you
like. I will be leading this dive
and will certainly be on the
lookout for green turtles,
octopus, lobsters boldly walking
around and any other creatures we
may find.
Our slate of other dives this year
are filling up fast so make those
bookings now while there's still
space. If you have any questions
or need any help with anything,
feel free to contact me at
786-316-9852 or simply reply to
this email.
See you in Key Largo!
