Fort Lauderdale Wreck Trek with American Dream
Dive 1:
Wreck Trek - Seas 1’, depth 70’,
vis 50’, water temp 83 degrees, current 2
kts. This is a drift dive covering 4 wrecks.
Starting at a 60’ sail boat, then to the Jay
Scutti a 95’ tug boat, then to the Tracy a 131’
freighter, ending at the Merci Jesus a 90’
freighter. All 4 wrecks had prolific hard and soft
corals, a variety of parrot fish, sergeant
majors, hatchet fish, goliath grouper (300-400
lbs), angels, swarms of fingerlings,
butterfly fish, orange cup coral blankets.
Dive 2: The Caves - Seas 1’,
depth 30’, vis 50’, water temp 83 degrees, no
current. Also a drift dive. Sightings include a
stingray, hatchet fish, angels, goat fish, grunts,
snappers, butterfly fish, wrasses, and other
tropical fish.
Thanks to Roger, Al, Juan, and Gerry for following
the ADA policy for coronavirus. American
Dream II had stations for each diver that were 6’
apart and reminded us all to don our masks
after each dive. Well done Capt. Todd and crew.
