Reef Report

Sea Turtle Dive with Walkers Dive Charters

What a beautiful day for a dive! The sky was clear and blue with a warm breeze. Our crew, Captain Mike, Christina and Jeff took great care of our Active Divers group, loading and unloading our gear, feeding us fresh pineapples and even leading both dives for us! The boat was in great shape, with plenty of space to get comfortable and a smooth trip out to the dive sites and back. Capt. Mike expertly dropped us on the reefs and loaded us back on board with ease.

Dive 1: Baths
Seas 1’, vis 40’, depth 45’ on top, 60’ off the ledge, water temp 84. We drifted to the north with the moderate current along a beautiful reef with abundant life. There were huge schools of big eye snapper, grunts and barracuda. We spotted moray eels, lionfish and a couple of divers spotted a sleeping loggerhead at the end of the dive.

Dive 2: Flower Garden
Seas 1’, vis 40’, depth 45’ on top of the reef, 60’ off the ledge, water temp 84.The second dive was just as beautiful as the first! We saw large groups of spotted drums and rainbow parrots. A couple of nurse sharks swam by to say a quick hello, but they were too busy to stick around. On this dive we swam with a large female loggerhead and drifted over another sleeping on the reef. We spotted a few green moray eels and a spotted moray gave us a big toothy grin from its hiding spot in the reef.
