Conch Ledge - Seas 1-2’, depth
27’, vis 60’, water temp 88 (!) degrees no
current. A beautiful 6-10 ft. high ledge with lots
of nooks and crannies for critters to hide.
Sightings included crabs, green moray eel, golden
eel, porkfish, large schools of grunts and
yellowtails, large squirrelfish.
Dive 2: Pickles Reef - Seas
1-2’, depth 34’, vis 60’, water temp 86 degrees,
no current. Huge green moray eel, lots of CRF
outplanted staghorn and elkhorn corals doing quite
well harboring juvenile fish. Also free swimming
nurse shark, spotted eagle ray, and baby
trunkfish. The highlight of this dive was a
beautiful small hawksbill turtle.
Dive 3: Night Dive - Molasses Reef
Northstar - Seas 1’, depth 25’,
vis 50’, water temp 86 degrees. The dive began
with a mild current that became moderate toward
the end of the dive. Large green moray eel,
sleeping parrotfish, channel clinging crab, red
serpent sea star, numerous hermit crabs of all
shapes and sizes, Spanish lobsters walking around.
At one point in the dive we all gathered around in
a circle, cupped our flashlights and stirred up
the bio-luminescent algae!
