Shark Dive with Emerald Charters in Jupiter

Twelve Active Divers ventured out with Emerald Charters on an exhilarating day of diving with majestic sharks.

Dive #1 Jupiter Deep Ledge - Seas 1-2 feet, depth 90 max, vis 80 feet, water 81 - 87 degrees, strong flowing current. The first of three dives, divers were anxiously anticipating their first attempt to visit with the sharks. With perfect precision they dropped one after another, paratrooper style, into the ocean quickly descending and following the man with the crate. After getting in formation behind the shark master, they waited as the first of many sharks on the day arose from the deep blue sea, a Bull shark. It did not stay for long but what soon followed were a couple of dusky and sandy sharks who were eager to stay around and introduce themselves to the group.  Mesmerized by the beauty of the sharks the group of divers drifted merrily along as the sharks continued to follow the man with the crate until we were finally at the surface and ready for round two.

Dive #2 Lemon Drop - Seas 1-2 feet, depth 90 max, vis 80 feet, water 81 - 87 degrees, strong flowing current. After whetting their appetites on the first dive, the divers were ready for more and this dive did not disappoint. As its name suggests, this site was all about the Lemon sharks. Where the first dive had a mix of sharks, this dive had lemon, after lemon, after lemon all wanting to befriend our man with the crate and smile for the cameras.

Dive #3 Jupiter Wreck Trek - Seas 1-2 feet, depth 90 max, vis 80 feet, water 81 - 87 degrees, strong flowing current. Lunch was served, this time for the divers, who needed some nourishment themselves before the third and final dive of the day. The group was dropped on top of the Jupiter Wreck Track, a set of three wrecks the Zion Train, Miss Jenny and ESSO Bonaire. With the current quickly zipping them along over the top of the Zion and Miss Jenny, they setup at the stern of the Bonaire as if it was a theater balcony to watch the next shark symphony. First to arrive was a Goliath Grouper who had followed the group from the Zion. Next to join was another friendly lemon. After the first act, the show moved on and back into the drift the group went with the lemon shark in tow making close friends of all the divers and leaving a memory they would not soon forget.
