In the first Active Divers night dive at the bridge was spectacular! 17 divers descended on the bridge by the light of the silvery moon and were treated to 5 octopus and a host of other amazing creatures.  

Dive 1 - Blue Heron Bridge: Depth 23 ft., seas less than a foot, viz very clear (the length of a flashlight beam), water temp 84 degrees. Five octopi were sighted, along with horseshoe crab, several sea robins, conger eel, arrow crabs, sleeping parrotfish, channel clinging crab, coral crabs, stone crabs, yellow stingray, great balls of silversides, queen angelfish, porkfish, reef squid.

Dive 1 - Neptune Memorial Reef. Seas 2', depth 43', vis 30', slight current. Water temp 84 degrees. Sightings include large green moral eel, rainbow parrotfish, grunts, porkfish, pufferfish, spotted scorpionfish. 

Dive 2 - RJ's Ledge. Seas 2', depth 29', vis 30', slight current. Water temp 85 degrees. Sightings included spotted eagle ray, many lobsters, yellow stingray, clouds of schooling grunts and snappers, parrotfish.

Before departing for the dive site, confirm weather conditions with Lon at (305) 251-4975 or with the designated Safety Officer. It is the responsibility of the member to call. Because of the large numbers of divers involved we are not able call you with weather information. For morning dives, call between 6 and 10 p.m. the night before the dive. For afternoon dives, call between 9 and 10 a.m. the morning of the dive
