Dear Members,

It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you that Mark Silverman passed away on Friday, August 13th due to complications of COVID. 

Mark was a member of Active Divers Association since 2014. He was in training to become a Safety Officer for the club since last year. His last dive with the club was the Sea Turtle Dive in Jupiter on July 3rd where he served as Assistant Safety Officer. 

He is survived by his son David, also a member of the club and an avid diver. Mark had a passion for diving, and a sincere desire to serve the club as a Safety Officer. He was a high school chemistry and biology teacher, and very knowledgeable about marine life. He is beloved by many and will be sorely missed. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Summit Church Homestead, 28945 SW 187th Ave, Homestead, FL 33030. We will be posting information on donations to charity in lieu of flowers, food etc. as soon as it becomes available.
