Reef Report

Spiegel Grove Wreck dive with Horizon Divers

Seven Active Divers double-dipped the Spiegel Grove with Horizon Divers.

Dive #1 Spiegel Grove- Seas 3-4 feet, depth 100 ft, vis 60 feet, water 86 degrees, medium to strong current. Moored on Buoy #6 the divers descended until the massive structure of the Spiegel Grove appeared. As they traversed the wreck, they took in the American flag dancing in the current with a resident barracuda stationed below it in the wheelhouse. The stars of the show, however, were the reef sharks that patrolled the ship. A great experience for all the divers who had a chance to see Caribbean reef sharks, grouper, jacks, large permit, barracuda, and many other species that call the Spiegel Grove home.

Dive #2 Spiegel Grove- Seas 3-4 feet, depth 100 ft, vis 60 feet, water 86 degrees, medium to strong current. After their surface interval, the divers were ready for round two.  Both groups headed into the wreck, starting with a clear swim-through,  the divers got to travel through a hallway of the ship, popping out on the opposite side and being greeted by the passing reef shark. Similar to the first dip, sightings included groupers, jacks, large permit, barracuda, and a couple of Caribbean reef sharks.

Let's Go Diving! Book Your Favorites Before They Fill Up!
FULL doesn't always mean full.
When our dives fill up the original number of spaces booked, we can always ask for more space from the dive shop. And when the boats are at capacity you can always ask to be put on the waitlist. We always have cancellations, so many of our members on the waitlist get on the dive, sometimes the night before or the morning of the dive. So don't miss out. If you're favorite dive says full, just ask to be put on the waitlist by contacting Rachel at 786-316-9852 or simply reply to this email. Waitlisted spots are filled on a first come first served basis so do it soon! See you on the boat!
