Reef Report:
Blue Heron Bridge
End of Season Picnic
November 12, 2022
It was a gorgeous day for our annual
end of season picnic with sunny skies
and a high of 85 degrees. However,
being only two days after Hurricane
Nicole made landfall in Florida, the
visibility was reduced to nearly zero.
Yet ten active divers still braved the
conditions to get in one more
dive.
I would talk about sightings in the 79
degree water, but there were really
none due to the lack of viz. So I will
talk about what happened after the
dive.
Chef Lon Von Lintel had the BBQ going
strong when we got out of the water,
and we had a lot of food thanks to
members bringing dishes. Thank you to
Amber for providing the drinks and
ice. The highlight of the day was our
raffle which was probably our biggest
and best ever. Force E donated a $70
gift card, the Obermeier's donated two
gently-used Zeagle BCD's, dive bags
and a lot of camera equipment. Lori
Woeltjen donated four of her fabulous
Kraken Canvas nautical-themed pillows,
Dan donated several wetsuits and fins,
Lenora donated nautical housewares and
Amber donated numerous turtle
curios.
A wonderful time was had by all!

Safety Officer Rachel Davis
