Club Rules for Diving Activities

  1. All divers using SCUBA gear must be certified.
  2. All divers must keep a dive log and may be required to present it and their certification card before diving.
  3. All divers must have a buddy and stay with that buddy during the dive.
  4. All divers (skin and SCUBA) must wear a personal floatation device. SCUBA divers must wear a buoyancy compensator which will hold the diver's head above water when inflated, has a whistle attached, and has adequate lift at the surface.
  5. All SCUBA divers must be equipped with a submersible pressure gauge and return to the dive origin (boat, shore) with a minimum of 500 psi remaining in the tank. SCUBA divers must be equipped with a snorkel attached to their mask, (except for cavern & current dives) and fins.
  6. All divers must be equipped with instruments which measure time and depth.
  7. All divers must have a dive light when night diving. A back up light is recommended.
  8. All dives, following the dive tables, must be within the US Navy no decompression limits of time and depth. Computer assisted dives must follow the guidelines published in the latest issue of the ADA newsletter.
  9. Maximum depth for any dive is one hundred twenty (120) feet.
  10. All dives must conform to the current recommendations concerning diving and flying. Please consult an ADA safety officer for more specific information.
  11. The use of illicit drugs or alcohol before diving is absolutely not allowed. Divers using prescription or over the counter medications should consult a physician familiar with diving medicine prior to diving and advise the divemaster.
  12. Plan your dive and dive your plan.
  13. Removal or collection of marine organisms, either alive or dead, is not allowed. Divers are reminded to avoid touching living corals, either accidentally or deliberately.
  14. Spearfishing is discouraged and is illegal in some areas
  15. All diving activities are subject to the laws of the area, state, and country in which they take place.
  16. All divers must be present for the pre-dive briefing.
  17. For advanced dives all divers must meet the advanced diving criteria as listed in the most current ADA newsletter.
  18. Divers making their first dive with ADA must dive with the Safety Officer.
  19. All divers are required to follow the instructions from the captain, crew, and ADA divemaster. They are concerned for your safety.
  20. All divers under the age of 18 must dive with a parent or legal guardian
